River of Goods ™ prides itself on giving back to the community and donating to local charities.
We are currently holding a food and fund drive for Second Harvest Heartland, the Upper Midwest’s largest hunger relief organization. Second Harvest Heartland is a member of Feeding America, a national network of more than 200 food banks serving every state in the United States.
Occasionally a cause will come along that we cannot help but contribute to. Recently the Susan K. Johnson Benefit was held and we were proud to be a donor to the silent auction. In addition, we had staff in attendance to witness the outpouring of love and support for Sue. The benefit was blessed with over 400 attendees, live music, fantastic silent auction items, and the talented emcee, John Hines, one of the best-known personalities in Twin Cities’ broadcasting. Family, friends, medical staff, neighbors, and cross-country travelers came together to show their love and admiration for Sue’s miraculous recovery from a devastating medical situation. What was thought to be the flu was actually an infected kidney stone that led to septic shock and ultimately resulted in the amputation of both of her feet and both of her hands. Sue is a fighter and she is imagining a new life and making that new life a reality. Her fighting spirit is an inspiration to all who know her or simply know her story. River of Goods™ is proud to be a part of such a wonderful event!
